Hull city centre will welcome Armed Forces Day celebrations on Saturday 27th June, as residents and visitors are invited to honour the men and women who serve, or have served, in the UK's Armed Forces.
Taking place across Victoria Square, Paragon Street and King Edward Street, the free family-friendly event promises a day packed with activities, entertainment and opportunities to learn more about the vital role the Armed Forces play within our communities.
Working alongside local regiments from Hull and the East Yorkshire region, the event will feature a fascinating display of military vehicles, giving visitors the chance to get up close to equipment and speak with those connected to the Armed Forces.
A large marquee will host veterans' groups and military charities, showcasing the incredible support they provide to service personnel, veterans and their families. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet representatives from a range of organisations and discover more about the work they do across the region.
There will also be displays and interactive activities from local cadet groups and blue light services, offering a unique insight into the organisations that help keep our communities safe and supported.
Families can enjoy a variety of free attractions throughout the day, including children's workshops, face painting and balloon modelling. Meanwhile, live entertainment will take place on the main stage outside the Maritime Museum, creating a vibrant atmosphere from morning through to afternoon.
Whether you're interested in military history, looking for a fun day out with the family, or simply want to show your support for the Armed Forces community, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
The event is free to attend and will be open to the public from 10am until 4pm.
Join us in Hull city centre as we come together to celebrate Armed Forces Day and recognise the dedication, service and sacrifice of our Armed Forces community.
